Qualifications and Training
My interest in acupuncture first started when I moved to live in Hong Kong as a teenager, I subsequently trained at the prestigious College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and have a BSc. in Acupuncture, I have also undertaken further training in Beijing. The style of acupuncture that I practice is a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element Acupuncture. I have also trained in Tui Na which is a form of Chinese acupressure massage, this can be used to treat a range of conditions and can be used instead of needles, for those who are needle phobic. I have a diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine and while I do not currently prescribe herbs, I can provide advice on whether they may be suitable for your condition and recommend practitioners. I also incorporate lifestyle and dietary advice into my treatments where appropriate.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy cooking – particularly spicy Szechuan style food and am interested in how diet supports health. I enjoy Pilates and walking around the beautiful countryside around South Oxfordshire. I teach at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine and was formerly the Academic Director at the College. I now supervise students who are in the final stages of the course.
Further Training
I regularly attend further training events in acupuncture and am currently studying a non-invasive style of Japanese Acupuncture called Toyohari. Other recent courses I have completed include:
